Positive: Spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen plenty of bathrooms, good range of books/games - lovely garden

Negative: The property had clearly been used very little recently - so it was freezing cold and it took nearly 16 hours to warm it through - there were no blankets so we ended up sleeping the first night in our clothes! They brought heaters for the second night, but actually it had got warmer - it needed warming through first especially if it hasn’t been used for a while. The cleaning standard was awful, there were hairs in the showers, the beds were dusty, as was the house. Simple things like the place mats were sticky, there was gunk around the taps and door handles were clearly not cleaned. There was no fire starter set provided, which I’ve never known in a holiday leg with a fireplace - normally there is an initial lot to get you started, for the money I feel this is an oversight! It smelt damp when we arrived - again a sign of little use. There was damage to the front door, and both were difficult to open and close! I did contact the office, and was offered people to come to the house to repair/clean, but couldn’t give a clear ETA and as I’m travelling with an autistic child without a clear time/schedule this was no good for me - in the end it completely tainted the stay and we actually came home a day early! Such a shame as it was a lot of money for a disappointing break
