Summary: It's a beautiful, and slightly aging resort right on the beach. However... Much maintenance is occurring constantly including R I G H T O U T S I D E O U R R O O M!! Workers were modifying planters and applying a tar-like sealant with an overpowering gasoline smell. The odor permeated underneath our room door and the smell filled the room. We tried jamming a large towel at the door's gap and even had staff bring us a room humidifier. It took about 6 hours before we could return. Bad service methods and bad decisions on the hotel's management/maintenance. Also, there's constant trimming of palm trees and blowing of leaves and debris with gas-powered devices...NOISEY! Even the next-door Westin resort had a weed-wacker roaring for 4 hours as we sat by the Club Regina pool. We opted to move to the beach where the surf drowned out that noise. Aside from the resort being noisy for 5 days, the poolside restaurant was good. But the main restaurant "Inizio" had great food, but poor service. Waiter brought a salad for one guest, while the other ate their main course, finished it, then watched the first guest wait another 15 minutes to get their main course. Waiter could of timed the food delivery much better. Or just asked the guests. Restaurant Manager wasn't very friendly, either. So, overall we had a 3-star stay. The hotel staff (not restaurant) was very, very friendly and accommodating including costs/fees and currency conversion. Taxis were easily scheduled.
