Positive: Tremendous views, especially from the dining room Comfy beds Well equipped kitchen Parking right outside the door (but not spoiling the views) Great location for getting to our walks

Negative: Bathing facilities are poor: The water heating needs to be turned on when you arrive but there was no mention of this in the arrival instructions. Once on, the water heating is on a timer with no indication of when it is actually heating up. Even using the boost button we only had tepid water on our first night. The electric shower is hot but has a feeble flow and as it is over the sloping end of the bath it is hard to stand close enough to it to get under the flow. The hot water to the bath runs extremely slowly and the replacement bath plug leaks (original is missing) so the water drains almost as fast as the bath fills. After a good day's walking on the fells you want to either soak in a hot bath, or at least have a nice hot powerful shower - neither are possible here The central heating pump is in the main room and causes the pipes in the room to vibrate noisily constantly. This was running when we arrived and we had to pad the pipes to stop this (it looked like others had done similar previously). Eventually we just turned the pump off during our stay as we were not using the central heating. The house manual says bin collection day is Wednesday, however it is actually Tuesday (as per the notice on the wall in the kitchen). The main wheely bin was full to bursting when we arrived on Monday so it was good we spotted this in time If the hot water situation was fixed we would love to stay here again
