Positive: The staff of Ocean Vibes work very hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Negative: There was a lack of or miscommunication between Booking.com and Ocean Vibes that led to a small hiccup during our stay. We had requested that a bottle of sparkling wine and fruit to be set in our room on arrival for our 30 year anniversary. It wasn’t. We were a little disappointed but didn’t feel the need to complain. Over coffee one morning half way through our stay, our host chatted with us to see how our stay was going. We mentioned the oversight but was “no big deal”. He was very apologetic and would look into it. We assured him it wasn’t necessary but later that night a small parade of staff members arrived with a bucket of ice, sparkling wine, and a small mountain of fruit. Very nice of them albeit strange as we were already in bed for the night. The unsavory part came as we were checking out. We had packed up, loaded the taxi with our luggage, and were just starting up the driveway when one of the staff ran out to present us with the bill for the bottle of sparkling wine and fruit. 1400 baht. We of course paid on the spot as we were leaving the island in the next hour and didn’t want to cause any trouble with the locals. Especially over the cost of a bottle of wine and some fruit. Our dismay came from having set this up with Ocean Vibes communicating through Booking.com. My wife had made the request as a surprise for our arrival and had assured we would pay for any extra. We were assured there would be no extra cost. While we waited for the ferry to leave the island, we received a request to review our stay at Ocean Vibes. The effects of the bill was still fresh in our minds so we filled out their quick survey (good review btw) but did mention to them offline about the snafu over the wine. They claimed that they knew nothing about any of the prior arrangements and only hastily put this together for us after a single mention over coffee that morning. In summary, the communication between Booking.com and Ocean Vibes could have been better. Excellent stay!
